Haikus about my kids from 2024
I wrote these four haikus in the spring of 2024. I found them recently while attempting to digitally declutter my phone. I don’t want them lost to the cloud, so enjoy.
Fourteen (the firstborn)
“Do I have to use
Shampoo daily in my hair?”
Yes, son, yes. You do.
Almost thirteen (the middle child)
Mostly you’re too cool
But you will play hide and seek
Teen, boy, two in one
Almost seven (the only girl)
Lip gloss, nail polish,
Squishies, stickers, and key chains
First grade currency
Four (the baby)
I hold you to me
Bury my face in your hair
Don’t ever grow up
