I lost 2 friends my age in 2023 - one to cancer and one to suicide - and it rocked me. They were both believers. And a friend of mine from high school - same age as me - had her dad pass away. Also a believer. Death - even the death of believers - is just hard. Jonathan’s grandmother, the last of both of our living grandparents, passed away right before thanksgiving. She was 98 and still. Hard. Love you, dear friend. Thanks for your reflections. Would love to see you sometime when you’re here. But so happy you feel at home in GA now.
I’m glad Effingham feels like home. 2024 had some real suffering in it but I’m glad we did it together. Investing in relationships and saying true things matter.
Our family visited your church a while back and ended up not joining. We have participated with some youth activities and the marriage conference last year. We love your family and church but ended up feeling led to join another local church.
We are so thankful for friendships and connections in our local family of faith - even those outside of our local covenant body.
I lost a close friend to cancer this year - he was 43 and left a young wife and their 2-year-old son - it was very sad but his faith in Christ was solid from the day he was diagnosed. Watching him work through cancer, fighting it, and preparing for death at an early age - this is hard stuff but he handled it with solid faith and it demonstrated how we can live well in any circumstance. He set an example to follow and I'm so thankful for his friendship and the time we had together especially form 2001 to 2004.
I'm pretty good with systems for productivity. You mentioned a few I'm not familiar with - thanks for the homework!
Ice cream is awesome. Coke is garbage - no one should ever drink it!

We were only in Columbia for like 36 hours — hopefully we will be back for longer at some point!
